Our Machining Processes
Precision Machine Work
High Desert Rifles focuses on precision machine work above all else. Using the best parts that this industry has to offer, we dial in your chambers to within .0002 or better using a true bore alignment system. We have found this method to be superior to any other.
Crafting Your Chamber
We use a high pressure oil flush system for chambering - this is what makes our chambers as smooth as glass. Then, we polish out your chamber with 400 grit sandpaper so that the brass (or the round) can grip the sidewall after ignition.
Barrel Bore
Every barrel has a curvature from one bore end to the other. The high side of the muzzle end is timed with the top of the action. The threading and the muzzle crown get the same attention to detail.
Final Assembly
After everything has Cerakote (ceramic coating) applied, we do a stress-free pillar bedding. Everything is assembled to torque specs and thread locking where needed, and then function tested for safety. Finally, we test fire the rifle to verify accuracy before cleaning everything one final time. Then we ship your custom rifle off to you.
